Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Vancouver Public Scholars Awards, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Doctoral students at UBC Vancouver (including PhD, EdD, DMA, and part-time PhD students) within their first to fifth years of study.
Doctoral students at UBC Okanagan within their first to fifth years are also eligible.
Applicants must have completed their doctoral program within 48 months by August 31, 2023, and must be enrolled in a UBC doctoral program by September 1, 2023.
In rare cases, students in their sixth year (48-60 months) may also be considered.
All funded students must submit a report at the end of their first year (and if applicable, their second year) of funding, and present their work at the “PhDs Go Public” event.
The application process for the PSI Fellowship requires careful preparation and adherence to deadlines. Follow these steps to apply:
Download Documents: Retrieve the “PSI Fellowship Application 2024-2025” and “PSI Fellowship Application Instructions 2024-2025” files.
Edit and Save: Complete the form and save it under the file name: LastName_FirstName_PSI.
Complete the Application Form: Follow the guidelines carefully to complete the application, including the “Outline of Proposed Scholarly Work” and “Relationship of Proposal to PSI Goals,” each limited to 4,000 characters.
Upload Documents: Merge the completed application form with your Canadian Common CV into a single PDF and upload it to the Qualtrics form page.
Submit via Qualtrics: Complete the Qualtrics form, which should take about 5 minutes, and submit your documents.
Supervisor and Collaborator Letters: Request your supervisor and collaborators (if applicable) to submit their letters of support directly via Qualtrics.
